If you have diabetes and have searched for information out there you know that there is more than you could possibly sort through in a lifetime and it can be difficult to really know what to listen to and what’s really just noise.

At diabetes-ok.com our aim is to provide you with the best information available to diabetics about what their health condition means for their life and what they can do to help make it better.

My name is Simon and I run diabetes-ok.com and I am personally a diabetic. I have had what is known as MODY which stands for Maturity Onset Diabetes of the Young.

I was diagnosed with Diabetes at the age of 22 but have exhibited symptoms from my mid teens. Being that I am not overweight and led an active and fairly healthy lifestyle my particular case didn’t seem to fit any of the definitions of the time.

Now, while still considered a rarer form of diabetes, this particular type of diabetes has become more recognized.

It is because of this and because of the knowledge that I have gained over the years about my condition that I decided to create this site about what diabetes does to a person and some of the things diabetics can do to help themselves and understand their role in staying as healthy as possible for as long as possible.

Thank you for visiting this site and please feel free to contribute to the conversation.
